iRobot Roomba Max 705 Vac
A vacuum-only Roomba focused on hands-off debris emptying and modern navigation rather than mopping. It is particularly relevant to carpet-heavy homes or shoppers who prefer a dedicated vacuum robot and do not want to maintain a mop system.

Manufacturer claim only
iRobot explicitly says the Max 705's PrecisionVision AI recognises and navigates around pet waste, but RightRobot has not found a strong exact-model independent pet-waste test yet.
Important: A feature claim is useful evidence of intended capability, but it is not enough for a no-contact must-have.

What looks good — and what to weigh up
Reasons to consider it
- Vacuum-only focus can be a better fit for carpet-heavy homes
- Auto-empty ownership convenience
- Modern sensing and mapping hardware are relevant to cluttered homes
Trade-offs / checks
- No mopping means it is a poor fit when hard-floor washing is important
- RightRobot keeps sensing hardware separate from proven obstacle-avoidance outcomes
- Compare ownership value against vacuum-and-mop alternatives at similar prices
Features RightRobot calls out
The dock empties the robot into an enclosed bag automatically, which is useful in a larger home because you are not emptying the small onboard bin after every few runs. iRobot specifies up to 75 days of hands-free debris emptying. RightRobot has verified the feature, but does not yet have strong exact-model independent evidence for long-term ownership convenience.
The robot combines LiDAR mapping with object recognition so it can build detailed maps while trying to identify everyday clutter such as cords, socks and pet waste. iRobot documents the sensing and mapping hardware, but RightRobot does not yet have enough exact-model independent testing to claim class-leading obstacle avoidance.
The twin rubber rollers stay in contact with different floor types and Carpet Boost increases suction on carpet, making the vacuum-only design relevant to homes with a mixture of hard floors and carpet. The brush system and Carpet Boost are verified from iRobot. RightRobot is deliberately not treating them as a measured performance advantage until stronger exact-model independent evidence is added.
