Roborock Saros 20
A premium Roborock all-rounder that is most compelling when low-profile access, sophisticated navigation and broad dock automation solve real problems in the home. RightRobot treats the flagship feature set as a benefit only when those capabilities improve Home Fit enough to justify the price.

Independent testing raises concern
Independent testing says pet-waste avoidance is not reliable enough for unattended use with accident-prone pets, especially when obstacle handling drops on carpet.
Video links open the original reviewer's YouTube video at the relevant timestamp. This evidence is about recognising/avoiding solid simulated pet waste. Urine, vomit, diarrhoea and other wet messes are different hazards and should not be treated as covered by a solid-waste avoidance result.
What looks good — and what to weigh up
Reasons to consider it
- Premium navigation and low-profile access are relevant in awkward layouts and under low furniture
- Broad dock automation can reduce day-to-day emptying and mop maintenance
- Anti-tangle and mixed-floor capability make it a strong all-round comparison point
Trade-offs / checks
- Flagship pricing means value depends on whether the extra capabilities matter in your home
- A cheaper robot can still be the better recommendation when Home Fit is close
- Current retailer price and stock should be checked immediately before purchase
Features RightRobot calls out
The chassis can raise and level itself to tackle unusually high room transitions, thick carpet and some situations that would strand a conventional robot. Roborock rates the double-layer threshold system at up to 8.8 cm. RightRobot also has an independent Vacuum Wars test where this exact model crossed a 57 mm single threshold, so the climbing hardware is more than a paper feature.
The side brush and mop physically extend beyond the round body, helping it reach wall edges, corners and toe-kick areas that fixed brushes can leave behind. Roborock specifies extending brush and mop hardware and claims full edge/corner coverage. T3 describes the FlexiArm brush and mop as reaching edges and corners more effectively, but RightRobot does not yet have a separate exact-model standardized edge-coverage number.
This combines unusually high claimed suction with brush hardware designed to reduce hair wrap, which matters on carpet and in homes with long hair or pets. The 36,000Pa figure is a manufacturer claim, but independent testing is strong where it matters: RightRobot records 89% carpet deep-cleaning, 88% flattened pet-hair pickup and zero wrap in the 7-inch hair test.
The low-profile vision and 3D sensing system handles mapping and object recognition without a tall spinning LiDAR turret, helping the robot reach under lower furniture. Roborock says the system can recognise 300+ object types. In RightRobot's independent obstacle test, however, the Saros 20 avoided 17 of 24 objects (about 71/100), so the hardware is sophisticated but it should not be treated as flawless obstacle avoidance.
The dock handles most of the repetitive ownership jobs: dust emptying, hot-water mop washing, warm-air drying, detergent dosing, water refilling and automatic mop removal. RightRobot rates maintenance convenience at 92/100 for this exact model. T3 also found the dock a major part of the low-maintenance experience rather than just a long manufacturer feature list.
One-tap cleaning can adapt room strategy, suction, mop re-washing and quieter periods automatically instead of making you configure every room and routine by hand. Roborock documents SmartPlan 3.0 in detail, but RightRobot does not yet have a clean exact-model independent test that isolates how much better it is than normal app routines. We therefore surface the capability without awarding it extra Home Fit by itself.
