Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 Pro

RightRobot's current view

Xiaomi's most advanced current UK option for cluttered mixed-floor homes: retractable LiDAR helps under lower furniture, while the triple-camera system and extending brush and mop target objects, corners and edges. Independent testing was broadly positive but found that low-clearance access and default dry pickup did not always match the headline hardware.

The main things to know before buying are a front camera may not suit shoppers who prefer camera-free navigation and independent testing found one low-clearance access miss and only adequate default pickup.

Our take so far

Xiaomi's most advanced current UK option for cluttered mixed-floor homes: retractable LiDAR helps under lower furniture, while the triple-camera system and extending brush and mop target objects, corners and edges. Independent testing was broadly positive but found that low-clearance access and default dry pickup did not always match the headline hardware.

Xiaomi documents triple-camera recognition, retractable radar, extendable edge hardware, a 15mm mop lift and 20mm step claim. Notebookcheck independently tested navigation, cleaning and battery life, finding good mapping and stronger pickup at maximum power but a refusal to enter one 12cm-high space and about 90 minutes of runtime.

Pet accident evidence

Manufacturer claim only

Xiaomi's UK FAQ explicitly lists pet feces among recognised object categories, but RightRobot has not found a strong exact-model independent pet-waste test yet.

Important: Xiaomi also warns that recognition can vary with lighting, reflective/dark surfaces, viewing angle and sensor condition.

Video links open the original reviewer's YouTube video at the relevant timestamp. This evidence is about recognising/avoiding solid simulated pet waste. Urine, vomit, diarrhoea and other wet messes are different hazards and should not be treated as covered by a solid-waste avoidance result.
