Dreame Cyber10 Ultra: when a robot vacuum starts using tools

Robot arms are moving from novelty to a serious design direction. Dreame has shown Cyber10 Ultra with a multi-joint arm that can move objects and use separate cleaning tools to reach spaces the main robot body cannot enter.

Why this is interesting

  • Obstacle avoidance normally means driving around clutter; a useful arm could eventually remove the clutter instead.
  • Dreame says the arm can handle objects up to 500 g and autonomously use tools such as brushes or vacuum attachments.
  • Tool use matters because it expands the job beyond the physical footprint of the round robot chassis.

What the manufacturer has actually confirmed

  • Dreame describes a four-joint, five-degree-of-freedom CyberDex arm and says it can extend beyond the robot to interact with objects.
  • The CES 2026 showcase lists bionic arm handling up to 1.1 lb, autonomous tool use and TriSight obstacle identification.
  • Dreame now lists Cyber10 Ultra in official compliance documentation, but RightRobot is keeping it on availability watch rather than treating it as an established UK retail choice.

What we still don't know

Arm demonstrations need unusually careful independent testing. Object recognition, grip reliability, child/pet safety, dropped items, speed and software limits could matter more than the headline reach or lifting figure.
